More reasons the Dakota Energy board of directors needs to change course on their decision to purchase wholesale power from Guzman Energy:
- Dakota Energy received a $552,700 credit on their January 2022 power bill because of a good year for East River and Basin Electric. Do you think Guzman will return excess margins at year end if they have a good year? Or send your money to out of state Guzman shareholders in Coral Gables Florida?

To the Editor:
Dakota Energy member/owners and concerned residents of Beadle, Hand and Hyde Counties. Facts. Three DE board seats are up for election this year. Three non-incumbent members are candidates for these positions.
One of these candidates requested a current membership list so that he could reach out to the entire membership announcing his candidacy and introducing himself. He received a letter from DE’s local attorney stating “DE declines your latest membership list request because it appears to us that you intend to use that information for improper purposes.”

Do cooperative members want to have a say in key issues?
Would a member of a co-op care? Would they want to have a vote if the board wanted to break a contract with their power supplier and force members to buy power from an outsider at market prices? Market risk can be significant.

W: Are they1. Wasting members’ money on numerous lawyers, lawsuits, and court maneuvers?2. Wasting time and money by holding controlled meetings, presenting one-sided, biased information, having only Guzman representative present, and handing out propaganda against East River and Basin Electric?
